The Gravity of Geometry

(or the Geometry of Gravity)

2000 wood, cut-up school books, string

90” x 12” x 12” 

This piece was intended to stand straight and tall and just spiral up a bit, until it flopped over ( it’s sewn together). I took it all apart and put this thick elastic band inside, so I could control the “flop” better. Suddenly, it had all of this tension. That, for me, was very exciting.
