The conception of this work came about after flipping back and forth between the words “eclipse” and “ellipse” in the dictionary, trying to grasp the sameness and difference of those words. Between the two, I came upon an entry for “the Periodic Table of Elements.” The chemical elements, the source material for the universe, became a very peripheral structure for my version of “elements,” the source material for my work.I think about words and objects and ideas as particles floating/ bumping in space. This project is a natural extension of that thought process.
